Hello My Friends!
Well, I think the salmon are done. We did see a push of Coho come through yesterday but no one was really around to enjoy that. And the water being at 2100 is something not everyone is used to fishing. The good news is the steelhead are on the upswing and really moving into the river in good numbers. For almost a week it's been nothing but silver behind the shop.
For those of you looking for salmon my best advice would be to head up river to Altmar and see what's kicking around. Don't be afraid to try some of the tributaries as well. Trout brook has been producing salmon consistently for over a week and most of them look decent as far as quality.
If you're on the main river in this high water then look for back slips behind islands where the water flow isn't as strong. The fish like to shoot up the back sides of islands in high water to get out of the heavy current and that's a great place to find them.
